THE PEACHED TORTILLA

The Peached Tortilla is a Southern-Asian Fusion Inspired award-winning food truck, full-service catering company and brick and mortar restaurant. In 2010, we started to roam the streets of Austin in our food truck, serving Asian and Southern-inspired tacos and sliders. Over the past six years, we have continued to grow our business, turning into a multi-truck operation, boutique full-service catering company, and most recently, our brick and mortar restaurant.

Our brand is colorful, playful and happy, and the flavors of our food know no limits; to get peached is to be completely flavor smitten! We’re looking for someone who fully believes in our brand, is over the top in love with food, and wants nothing more than to ensure each guest leaves our catering event feeling superbly “peached” with the delicious food and impeccable service.

Eric Silverstein, Founder

The Peached Tortilla was founded by Eric Silverstein, a former litigator who decided to pursue a different career path and marry his passions of food and business. Eric was born in Tokyo, Japan, where he was heavily influenced by Japanese, Chinese and Malaysian cuisine. At the age of ten, Eric moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he was introduced to traditional Southern cuisine. These divergent flavors and cuisines serve as the backdrop for The Peached Tortilla's menu. In 2012, Restaurant Hospitality recognized Eric as one of the new “Stars of Street Food.” He is featured on the Chefsfeed App for Austin, TX and was recently named one of the top 30 Up and Coming Chefs in America by Plate Magazine.

Gilberto Solis, General Manager

Gilberto joined The Peached Tortilla family in April 2013 and is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, Texas. He comes from years within the restaurant industry, working at restaurants as a kid in his hometown of Juarez, Mexico. You have likely seen him greet you at one of our trucks, where he first got his start at the company. On his off time, he enjoys fishing and the outdoors with his coworkers and friends.

Kevin Kok, Bar Manager

Kevin was born in Hong Kong and came to the U.S. in 1998 with his family seeking a better life and opportunity, becoming a naturalized citizen in 2004. He attended the University of Oregon and received a B.S. in Economics with a focus in Mathematics in 2011. During college he started working as a bartender and fell in love with the art of mixology. Kevin started a career in bar and restaurant management in his early 20’s and came to Austin to be part of the vibrant and growing restaurant scene. In December 2014 he joined the Peached Tortilla as Bar Manager and has reveled in the challenge of building a brand new bar and restaurant from the start.

Stephani “Chefani” O'Connor, Catering Director

Chefani has cooked all over the US, from Manhattan to DC, Chicago to LA, and most every campsite in the Rockies and the West Coast. And now she’s in Austin, TX. She rules the kitchen with the iron fist of your grandfather, but blends flavors that would make your dear, sweet grandmother’s eyes well up with tears. She thrives in both a bustling restaurant kitchen and at the helm of the most demanding catering events. Her tattoos might make her look like a biker, but she’s more at home on a paddle board trying to keep her dog from falling into the lake. When she’s not working, she’s usually found looking for tacos with homemade tortillas, cooling off with a local beer, or getting lost in the aisles at Whole Foods.

Sarafina Riskind, Operations & Service Manager

Sarafina was born and raised in Austin, TX, but it was the small, high desert town of Prescott, AZ, that introduced her to the wild world of catering. She returned home to Austin to pursue a life in all weather, all terrain hospitality, with a focus on providing catering services for local music festivals and film. She joined the Peached Tortilla team in 2013 and finds that fostering growth and ambition in her teammates to be the most rewarding part of her job.
